Recovery from traumatic experiences is rarely straightforward, and often takes great care and work. I work with my clients to help them identify, process and release the scars that trauma can bring into their minds, bodies, and relationships. Sometimes the trauma is overt — like past sexual abuse, assault, or domestic violence. Sometimes the trauma is covert — like a parent who was never able to hug you when you were sad, or living in a culture that stereotypes your race, gender, or sexual identity as lesser than.
